SEEKING HOUSING I'm looking for housing starting any time between now and Dec 1.
This could be a sublet, a lease takeover, or a month-to-month lease.
I can be flexible on the exact end date but it would ideally be in August.
I would also consider a 6-month lease if there are no other good options.
NON-NEGOTIABLES - No more than $1,400/mo.
- No dogs.
- A good amount of natural light in my room as I'm prone to seasonal depression.
- No more than 2 roommates—queer or queer-friendly, generally friendly, capable of direct communication but also aware of what is important to bring up and what can be forgiven as long as it's not a repeating pattern.
Cleanliness standards should be generally high, but not so high as to create a stifling or "walking on eggshells" vibe.
When there are clashing needs, I expect us to sit down and work together to find a solution rather than treating each other like opponents and holding grudges or sending passive aggressive texts until one side succumbs.
ABOUT ME I am a gay/queer person (he or they) in my early 30s.
I've lived in 4 big cities and have shared apartments with people other than family members for a total of about 10 years.
I work as a paralegal at a nonprofit in Quincy that serves survivors of intimate partner abuse.
I like my home to be a relaxing place to come to after a long day of such emotionally taxing work, a place where I can be myself and unwind.
I’m on the introverted side of the spectrum and rarely have more than one person over at a time, though I do enjoy the occasional board game night.
I don’t smoke or drink.
I don’t have any pets, but I do have an ESA prescription.
It's unlikely that I'll actually get an ESA before August because I'm applying to grad/law schools, some of which are not in Boston.
In any case, if you'd be strongly opposed to a cat, please note that in your response.
If there are pets in the home already, please let me know what species and how many.
As noted above, I am a firm NO to dogs.
I'm looking forward to finding the right fit for a roomie :)
