The Loan Servicing Group is responsible for Loan Servicing and Collections/Special Assets for distressed real estate and real estate loan assets.
There is a significant emphasis in the group on developing scalable, compliant, best-in-class processes to support our real estate lending teams.
Role: Loan Servicing at Hingham Savings is responsible for ensuring that borrowers are adequately supported throughout their entire lending relationship with the Bank.
The Loan Servicing Specialist will work under the direction of Loan Operations Supervisor and the Director of Loan Servicing to ensure all loan maintenance, borrower inquiries, and various relevant reports and functions are adequately addressed by performing day to day operational functions of servicing a commercial, residential and consumer loan portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, highly organized, detail oriented and able to work independently.
This role can be performed remotely, with a certain amount of time in the office.
Responsibilities - What You'll Get to Do Work with the Commercial and Residential Lending Groups to ensure loans are properly funded and subsequently set up on the Bank's core processing system (Fiserv) Responsible for the on-boarding process of new Commercial, Residential/Consumer mortgages to Fiserv Review critical system generated lending operational reports relating to payments, loan on-boarding, payoffs, discharges and determine appropriate solutions and take the necessary actions when necessary As Assigned: Performing daily Loan Servicing Functions to include but not limited to: > Processing of Payoff Request > Partial Releases > Loan Funding and Loan Advances > Principal Paydown, > Rate Adjustments > Performing various loan maintenance > Processing of PMI and Flood Insurance Premiums, > Collection Activity and other duties assigned May assist with the Bank's tax escrow and tax surveillance program, including customer analysis, identification of shortages, remittances, and liaison with tax authorities.
Identify operational inefficiencies and collaborate with management on streamlining various servicing processes Ensure that all assigned general ledger transactions are completed and general ledger accounts balanced in a timely manner Assist in maintaining and updating operational procedures as assigned Assigned Duties may include: Responsible for monitoring adequate flood insurance coverage in compliance with regulatory requirements; Responsible for monitoring PMI accounts in compliance with regularly requirements, Responsible for monitoring sufficient insurance coverage by working directly with Minter group; including all escrow activities for forced-placement Assist in performing loan maintenance as assigned to include but not limited to: Loan Modifications for Commercial and Residential Loan Portfolio, Converting Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and Construction loans to repayment schedule May process construction loan disbursement requests from the Bank's Commercial Lending Group and maintain escrow accounts associated with the Bank's construction portfolio Assist in ensuring the integrity of the Bank's loan portfolio data, by performing initial Quality Control Reviews on loan performance data for internal modeling; identify opportunities to systematically capture additional data as part of the servicing process Responsible to setting up Internal and External Automatic Loan Payments Respond to borrower inquiries relating to billing questions, payoff requests, automatic payment set-up, and new loan set-up with superior customer service Collaborates with various departments such as Retail Banking Group, Digital Banking Group and Accounting Group to research and resolve issues pertaining to loan activity and loan maintenance Support management, as needed, in various projects relating to improving operational efficiency within the Loan Servicing team Take initiative and have a proactive customer focus All other duties and responsibilities assigned Requirements High School Diploma required 1+ years of loan servicing and/or financial operational experience Good working knowledge of General Loan Servicing rules and regulations Experience with Fiserv ClearTouch platform is preferred but not required Self-starter, possesses strong customer service and independent problem solving skills Strong computer skills - familiarity with Google GSuite preferred Attention to detail a must Strong written and verbal communication skills Benefits As a family-run company, we offer an excellent benefits package.
