Job Title: Real Estate Tax Analyst Company: Prologis Real Estate Tax Analyst, Boston A day in the life The Real Estate Tax Analyst will be an integral member of the Real Estate Tax Group that is responsible for the management of the entire portfolio’s (~4,500 properties globally) real estate tax liability.
Overall, this position will provide support for the valuations and assessment appeals, budgets/tax projections, and various compliance requirements related to Real Estate Taxes.
Key responsibilities include: Real Estate Tax Appeals and Budgets: Assist with the preparation and review of valuation/assessment workups (assessment and financial information data entry).
Review and perform database updates: assessment record entry and review create appeal records add and review savings entries Assist with the coordination and management of 3rd party consultants.
Track and update appeal status and savings information.
Track real estate tax refunds.
Review 3rd party provider invoices for accuracy.
Assist in the property tax annual budgeting process, forecast adjustments and new construction/acquisition projections.
Compliance and General Tasks: Prepare and distribute third-party consultant data request.
Respond to various assessing jurisdictional requests for information.
Complete and file abatement/incentive compliance forms.
Develop and maintain strong working relationship with assessing jurisdictions.
Performs research on the following but not limited to; title policy review, jurisdiction tax policies and property re-parceling.
Assume additional responsibilities as needed.
Identify and contribute to process improvement.
Building blocks for success Required: A background in property valuation, finance, accounting, or similar.
Familiar with the income, cost and sales approach to value.
Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (e.
g.
, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to research and familiarize with a variety of procedures in different jurisdictions.
Ability to tactfully address tax disputes.
Customer service and team-player mentality.
Preferred: A bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, accounting, or equivalent related experience Experience using Yardi Voyager a plus.
1-3 years of multi-state property tax and assessment experience preferred.
Familiarity with Itamlink Property Tax Management system preferred.
Hiring Salary Range of $70,000-$80,000.
Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s locations, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
