*Position Purpose*
The Property Accountant will work with a small team to help keep the accounting and financial processes of MG2 Group up to standard and ensure accurate timely financial reporting and control.
*Responsibilities*
* Manage the daily activity and month end close of all properties in assigned portfolio from start to finish.
* Payment of all invoices and related cash management entries.
* Create, post, and maintain schedules for adjusting journal entries, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
* Reconciliation of related bank accounts.
* Maintain General Ledger, reconciliations, and work papers for a diverse portfolio of commercial & residential properties.
* Prepare monthly accrual-based financial reporting packages.
* Collaborate on year-end financial statements, audits, and tax preparation in tandem with Property Management, Finance, and Owner.
* Assist with other ad hoc projects and reports, collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends.
*Skills and Qualifications*
* Ability to work in a Windows based environment.
* Proficiency with Excel and Word.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Experience with various Accounting/Finance software applications.
* Solid knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
* Adheres to deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail.
* 1-2 years minimum experience in a finance environment demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills and a track record of success working in a small team-based environment.
* Property/Real Estate Accounting experience highly desired.
* Ability to work independently while demonstrating flexibility and juggling various tasks.

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years work experience required.
