YWCA Malden is an innovative community-based organization with a mission of Empowering Women and Eliminating Racism.
The organization’s unique programs are targeted to underserved low-income women, girls, and families of color in the urban community of Malden, Massachusetts.
- Oversee recruitment of program participants - Scheduling and assessing educational components, work experience, leadership skills and supportive service opportunities.
- The Program Coordinator meets with enrollees for educational, career exploration and case management needs - Regularly meet with the Program Director and partner staff for referral needs and counseling support.
- Facilitate job shadowing, internships, paid and unpaid work experience opportunities.
- Ensure program objectives are being effectively implemented.
- Report on grant focused programs as they are outlined - Provide support, resources, guidance, and information to teens as they explore career, educational and recreational opportunities - Work with teen staff to set up and supervise activities, programs and events for all teen members - Serve on committees at the community and regional levels - Support other Program Coordinators in the teen centered activities Position Description and Responsibilities Qualifications: Candidate for the position of Worksmart Co-coordinator will have experience in youth development, career exploration and education.
Key areas of include community education, peer leadership training, recruitment and program development and implementation.
The candidate will be culturally sensitive, with the ability to work with teens from various backgrounds.
Must be a creative team player with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced non-profit organization.
A degree and/or relevant courses in community education, adolescent development, and program management is desired.
Drivers license a must.
