Job Summary: The Sr.
Staff Accountant plays a critical role in our organization and is responsible for maintaining financial reports and overseeing the day-to-day activities of jr.
financial associates.
Essential Functions: The Essential Functions are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job.

Balance Sheet Accounts: Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Maintain precise balance sheet accounts.
Knowledge of how the accuracy of the balance sheet accounts influence the financial decisions made, that impact the company’s performance.
Payroll: Process weekly payroll (function as back-up payroll processor as needed).
Audit weekly payroll.
Record weekly payroll activity.
Reconcile payroll expenses quarterly to 941.
Partner with the Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day tasks of the Financial Associates.
Review work for accuracy.
Identify areas of improvement.
Serve as a coach and mentor.
Able to assist or substitute for any Financial Associate: Understand financial mechanics of the three lines of business (Weatherization, Home Energy Assessment, HVAC).
Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller with the monthly and annual close process.
Audit: Assist in compiling auditor schedule of request.
Provide insight and support to external auditors.
Research accounting discrepancies and recommend proper resolutions.
Research accounting policies or review documents/agreements for accounting accuracy.
Complete other assignments, projects, and tasks as required.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance discipline.
Minimum of five years’ related experience.
High-volume experience preferred.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a group as required.
Strong communication, and organizational skills required.
Initiative-taking, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Key Competencies: Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, and v-lookups) required.
Experience with QuickBooks Desktop.
Experience working with NetSuite strongly encouraged.
Experience working with Bill.
com strongly encouraged.
Experience working in Salesforce preferred.
Additional Information: Supervisory Responsibilities: This can be an individual contributor position with no supervisory responsibilities.
This can be a supervisory role that may include overseeing a team.
Work Environment: Select from below: Office Environment: This position can be primarily based in an open office environment with typical office conditions.
Hybrid position: This position can be a flexible work model that combines remote and on-site work.
When working remote the employee is required to have a workspace free of distraction during work hours to perform job duties.
