Commonwealth Payroll & HR, your next exciting career adventure, is actively seeking a Senior, spirited and dedicated Staff Accountant to join our lively and welcoming team nestled in the charming town of Marblehead, MA! Commonwealth Payroll & HR has experienced rapid growth over the last 12 months and is now seeking a staff accountant to assist it's Accounting Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee critical aspects of our Company's cyclical accounting processes with confidence and conviction
Effortlessly navigate through the seas of A/R, A/P, time billing, P/R, G/L, and tax payments with precision and a sparkle in your eye.
Assume the mantle of Payroll Guardian, playing a key role in the payment, reconciliation and filing of payroll tax returns, daily processing and orchestrating financial harmony for our clients and our organization.
Artfully craft and present financial statements and forecasts that not only inform but dazzle and enlighten our esteemed Management Team.
Engage in the thrilling saga of month-end and quarterly closings, producing documents and reports that resonate with accuracy and financial wisdom.
Champion the cause of timely and accurate tax payments and return processing for our invaluable clients.
Become a billing savant, learning our billing system and be constantly on the hunt for profit and billing leaks.
With a discerning eye, analyze, reconcile, and weave data into insightful quarterly reports.
Stand as the beacon during annual financial and 401K audits, liaising with auditors with confidence and clarity.
Build and nurture relationships with our cherished customers, providing support and assistance to the Tax Team as needed.
On demand, conjure financial data for the management team and dive head-first into special accounting projects with enthusiasm and skill.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field is highly desirable.
Possession of a CPA License is a fantastic bonus!
At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience is necessary, with a preference for those familiar with public accounting or similar environments.
You boast of impeccable organizational and communication skills, with the ability to express yourself clearly in both oral and written forms.
Independent, with a knack for managing multiple projects and deadlines with finesse and a proactive attitude.
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word, with hands-on experience with Quickbooks Enterprise, Quickbooks Online accounting software and how to manage and maintain a chart of accounts.
