Payroll
SEIU Member Position
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all accounting work in the preparation and maintenance of school department payrolls, payroll records and calculations to include all compensation actions as they pertain to the preparation and maintenance of payrolls
Responsible for weekly processing of payroll for school department
Responsible for distribution of payroll checks.
Responsible for processing, maintaining, reporting and reconciliation of all 403(b) accounts and activities.
Responsible for processing, maintaining, reporting and reconciling disability insurance
Responsible for assisting staff and other city departments with all matters relating to payroll.
Responsible for verifying and submitting unemployment data on school department personnel.
Responsible for maintaining retirement records for both Municipal and Mass.
Teachers Retirement systems.
Process retirement applications
Process creditable service requests
Responsible for completing verification of employment
Ensure that all school department staff is being charged to the correct account
Responsible for meeting with new school department staff to ensure all new hire paperwork in complete
Be able to interact in a courteous and professional manner at all times
Assist with other business office duties as assigned by the business manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have working knowledge of payroll
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Must be detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills
Strong written and communication skills
Must have proven ability to effectively research and resolve payroll issues
Must be a team player
Ability to work well independently

The work will be conducted at the Malden Business Office located at 110 Pleasant Street, Malden.
Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm 52 week position
Salary: Grade 4 of the clerical salary scale
