DEGREE AUDIT ADMINISTRATOR, Registrar's Office, to function as the authority on individual student records regarding fulfillment of Institute graduate degree requirements.
Will be responsible for configuring, managing, and maintaining the Institute’s degree audit system for both undergraduate and graduate degree programs; interpreting curricular program requirements and translating them into system rules; developing knowledge and understanding of the graduate degree audit to provide seamless service; communicating with diverse faculty, staff, and students on a series of complex policies and procedures related to degree requirements; training and informing users of the system, particularly advisors and staff in academic departments; identifying potential crisis situations and developing feasibility pathways for student graduation; and providing seamless cross-functional service to the MIT community and the wider constituencies of the Registrar’s Office as a member of the academic records team.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least two years of experience in an academic setting; ability to act independently to resolve complex issues and discrepancies and make sound decisions; ability to readily acquire familiarity with curriculum, regulations, policies, and requirements; ability to learn and use new systems, vendor-specific language, and database-query skills quickly and independently; meticulous accuracy and attention to detail; ability to provide excellent customer service within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and to prioritize, multitask, and meet critical immutable deadlines; comfort working independently in a hybrid office environment; and strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and clearly with students, staff, and faculty.
PREFERRED: knowledge of MIT.
